COVID-19 and climate change are the pressing global crises of our time and addressing them will require knowledge, innovation, and science from all parts of the world. Yet gaps reveal unequal research conditions and systemic biases that impact our ability to produce knowledge and innovation required to tackle these global challenges. This plenary will explore the value of Southern research and international cooperation to address COVID-19 and climate change. It will feature leading researchers from the Global South and Canadian leadership in supporting equitable knowledge production and international collaboration for a more sustainable and equitable future.
