801: Reimagining Skills for a Green Future (Part 2)

Organized by: Ryerson University

Join Future Skills Centre and project partners for two active discussions about what skills are needed to design and develop solutions for inclusive innovation and a green future. These sessions will explore sector trends, challenges and creative ideas from researchers, FSC funded innovation projects, and industry leaders. Participants will be provided the opportunity to ask reflective questions, and engage in discussion with panel members on proposed challenges and ideas.

Panel Topic 1: Skills for Inclusive Innovation (12:00 - 1:15PM EST)
Panel Description: What is Inclusive Innovation? And what skills are needed to ensure we design and develop solutions facing those with the greatest barriers in employment and education. In this session, participants will be provided the opportunity to understand what skills are needed for inclusive innovation by learning about diverse projects that are cultivating the space to test, disrupt and create new approaches for training and development.

Panel Topic 2: Skills for a Green Future (1:45 - 3PM EST)
Panel Description: What does a green future look like? What  skills will we need for green jobs? In this panel discussion with researchers, industry leaders and community builders, we will focus on understanding the skills needed to develop and transition to a low carbon economy and support the growth of rising sectors and emerging career pathways.
