Since 2018, NSERC has asked funding applicants to self-identify in response to questions on age, gender, identity as a person with disabilities, Indigenous identity, and visible minority identity. This session will explore themes emerging from this data, to examine the representation of underrepresented groups in research funded through NSERC’s programs and how this compares to the population. This assessment aligns with the Tri-Agency Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Action Plan, through which NSERC is committed to achieving a more equitable, diverse and inclusive Canadian research enterprise, which is essential to creating excellent, innovative and impactful research
