Description:  This session will explore how we can facilitate and accelerate knowledge translation and exchange (KTE) to better understand the potential role of SMRs in Canada’s net-zero economy.  SMRs have been touted as technology that address some of the most serious issues related to nuclear power, including the generation and management of waste and dangers associated with nuclear proliferation.  Serious questions remain about the regulatory environment in which SMRs can be safely deployed.  A dialogue that connects technology and policy is critical to inform the path to SMR adoption, and define the role that SMRs might play in a net-zero future.
