Camila is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Sciences, Universidad de Los Andes, Colombia. Her field of research is on disease ecology, with particular emphasis in medical entomology. She has engaged in research on tropical infectious diseases such as Leishmaniasis, Chagas disease, malaria and arboviruses, through a diversity of approaches from molecular parasite-host interactions to spatial analyses on species distributions under climate change scenarios at continental scales. She has led as the Principal Investigator (PI) and Co-PI research projects funded by national and international agencies and has been involved in research partnerships with national and international institutions in Canada, USA, France, Italy, UK, Brazil, Ecuador, Chile and Argentina.
