Cesar is an assistant professor at the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Lima, Perú with extensive experience in infectious disease clinical research. He possesses a medical degree from Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia, a master’s degree in Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), and a Ph.D. in Global Diseases Epidemiology and Control from Johns Hopkins University. His work on infectious diseases has focused on tuberculosis, HIV, and tropical diseases. He has special interest in clinical and epidemiological research. He has acted as a Principal Investigator or co-investigator in grants funded by Wellcome Trust (UK), NIH (USA), CIHR and IDRC (Canada), FIND, World Diabetes Foundation, Medical Research Council (UK) and others. He has contributed more than 60 peer-reviewed journal articles. Cesar is also an honorary assistant professor at LSHTM and an international scholar at the Center for Global Health at Perelman School of Medicine at University of Pennsylvania.
