Professor and Canada Research Chair in Fisheries Ecology
Dr. Robert’s research interests include fisheries oceanography, pelagic ecology and fish population dynamics. He is particularly interested in how changes in the environment affect the distribution and recruitment of exploited marine fish stocks. His research program comprises applied research projects carried out in close collaboration with the Department of Fisheries and Oceans and the fishing industry. Scientific findings from his team are transferred to stakeholders and managers to develop sustainable management strategies, as well as the public.
