Giuliano Tolusso is a Deputy Director within the Innovation and Growth Policy Division of Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada’s Strategic Policy Branch in Ottawa. He leads a small team of policy analysts who focus on the socio-economic impacts of new and emerging technologies like precision, cellular, and controlled environment agriculture to determine their effects on farmers, consumers, competitiveness and the environment.  Prior to joining the federal public service in 2001, Giuliano held senior communications and marketing positions for a number of national professional and trade associations headquartered in Toronto. Over the past 10 years, Giuliano has organized and moderated two CSPC panel sessions, one on communicating with Canadians about agricultural biotechnology and one on patenting of higher life forms. Giuliano holds a Bachelor of Journalism degree from Carleton University in Ottawa.
