She leads a program on fat-soluble vitamins, with specific emphasis on vitamin D. She is also adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at McGill University and held a Canada Research Chair from 2005 to 2018. She was Associate Professor at the University of Manitoba in the Departments of Human Nutritional Sciences and Pediatrics and child Health. She has authored over 180 peer-reviewed publications and been awarded numerous national and international recognitions. She holds a Ph.D. in Medical Sciences, Cell Biology and Metabolism, McMaster University.
