Having served as the Director General of COVID-19 Communications Priorities, with the Privy Council Office (PCO), Laura focused on whole-of-government integration in the Government of Canada’s (GC) communications response to the COVID-19 pandemic. She has also led PCO’s Advertising and Marketing, Public Opinion Research, Stakeholder Engagement, and Digital Coordination teams.
Laura has a strong interest in applying research techniques such as Behavioural Science to communications. She recently completed a Master’s degree in Human System Intervention from Concordia University, with a focus on Change Management. Over the years, she has been a leader in Open Government, participating in international fora and serving on the GC’s first Multi-Stakeholder Forum. Laura has broad experience across many federal government departments including Global Affairs Canada, Canadian Heritage and the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat.
A proud Maritimer, Laura is grateful to live on Algonquin territory in rural Quebec. When she’s not working, she can often be found hiking, biking or skiing in Gatineau Park.
