Madelyn Capozzi

Integrated Design, Ecology, Art and Sustainability for the Built Environment
Creative Researcher at The Office of Rules and Norms, Research Assistant

Madelyn Capozzi is a graduate of Concordia University’s BFA in Design. Madelyn is interested in how prevailing philosophies and ways of relating intersect with action and institution. Her creative practice leverages design, research, and strategic intervention to engage with contemporary societal issues from a systemic perspective. She is a research assistant for IDEAS-BE, a research lab for sustainable urbanism. In residency at The Leonard and Bina Ellen Art Gallery, she co-produced a web-based creative research piece on relationships to water in Canadian mining practices. As Creative Researcher at The Office of Rules and Norms (ORN), she explores the potential of creative experiments for fostering long-term thinking in democratic discourse. Also through ORN, she is developing Value Collective, a proposal for rent-free residencies as an instrument for alternative economic practice. Her work as part of the art collective Shock Value has been featured in Le Metro, The Concordian and The Link.
