Mathew is a proud Anishnabeg from the Algonquins of Barrier Lake and Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg from the province of Quebec. He holds a Bachelor of Science in biochemistry from the University of Ottawa (2012). 


After graduating, Mathew has acquired experience working with non-profit Indigenous organizations working with youth and Elders on and off reserve, First Nation private businesses, and had his own First Nation business in massage therapy and self-care products. Mathew was also President/Spokesperson for a start-up committee for a Friendship Center in Gatineau, Quebec. Soon after, he started his Federal Government career in 2018 with Indigenous Services Canada with Child and Family Services Reform and moved to Housing and Infrastructure Services Reform Directorate. Mathew now works as a Research Analyst for PSPC in the Science Partnerships Sector of Laboratories Canada.

Since joining PSPC, Mathew has joined the Indigenous Circle of Employees as a the First Nation vice-chairperson and has been working on making PSPC a culturally safe place for Indigenous employees across Canada. 


Mathew’s passions include spending time with his 3 year old toddler, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, trail running, and dad jokes…most times at the same time!
