Professor Ruth Morgan is Professor of Crime and Forensic Science at University College London (UCL). She is Vice Dean (Interdisciplinarity Entrepreneurship) of the UCL Faculty of Engineering Sciences and the Founder and Director of the UCL Centre for the Forensic Sciences. She leads a strategic multi- and inter-disciplinary research programme that brings together the sciences, social sciences and humanities, and expertise that encompasses policy, policing, law and the creative industry. Ruth has received the PW Allen Award from the Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences for excellent research in 2006, 2016 and 2018.
Ruth is one of the World Economic Forum’s Young Scientists and is serving on the World Economic Future Council for Scientific Collaboration where she is working to develop opportunities for collaboration across disciplines and industry. Ruth was the Specialist Adviser to the House of Lords Science and Technology Select Committee during their inquiry into Forensic Science (2018-19).
