Economic Policy Analyst

Selina has had the privilege of working with and for Indigenous Peoples in her career and work in her community, and continues to learn and grow as an ally. 


Selina currently works in Science Policy for Laboratories Canada and has a keen interest in braiding knowledge systems and two-eyed seeing. 


In her role as a Policy Analyst for Indigenous Services, she supported several Indigenous organisations in their work to take over services from the government as an important element of self-determination, including supporting the Aboriginal Firefighters Association of Canada as they worked to create the Indigenous Fire Marshall’s Office. At the Department of National Defence, Selina provided policy support including preparing to implement the United Nations Declaration of the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) within the policy environment departmentally, supporting DND’s participation in Recognition of Indigenous Rights and Self Determination Tables, and engaging with Indigenous communities local to wings and bases on issues and partnership opportunities.


Selina is also a painter, musician, gardener and Mom to two grown kids.
