Sonny is Head of Canada Partnerships for UK Research and Innovation and is based in Ottawa as part of a wider UKRI North America presence. Sonny is responsible for strengthening UKRI ties with Canada through building deeper connections with existing partners and scope new opportunities in the race to address the urgent grand challenges and policy areas of our time. This work supports the delivery of UKRI’s international strategy, and the UK Government ambitions. Sonny has worked in international relations for almost 20 years holding previous posts within UKRI’s discipline-facing Councils.  Sonny hold a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Psychology and Philosophy.
